Exhausted!! I’ve literally gone through two weekends of Art/Pottery Tours and I’m a bit tired!!
First, my own Lake Minnetonka Tour — Then this past weekend, I was helping out with the St. Croix Pottery Tour.
It was so much fun to mix and mingle with sooooooo many people over two separate weekends — But I confess, I’m now exhausted. So, I need a recovery day — I’m having fun reviewing the wonderful pieces I purchased from some of the wonderful potters!!
And I’m sharing a few (smaller) pieces here on my Blog….
Dick Cooter — Small Pitcher
Dick is from the North Shore (Lake Superior) of Minnesota. He had so many wonderful wood-fired pieces, large and small! I’m sharing a small, smooshy wood fired pitcher — Perfect for Maple Syrup, or springtime flowers!
Delores Fortuna — Happy Mugs
Delores lives in Galena (historic small town) Illinois. She works in porcelain to create enticing, refreshing functional work. Deconstructing, then re-constructing with a light geometric statement. I’m sharing several mugs (tall and short) that I already LOVE for my morning coffee.
Guillermo Cuellar — Small Shino Bakers
Guillermo’s Studio is one of the ‘Host’ Sites for the Tour; he lives on a bluff above the St. Croix River. He always has wonderful work available on the Tour. I found two small oval-shaped baking bowls (or are they ice cream bowls?). I love the way the Shino Glaze accentuates the oval form. I can’t wait to prepare a Cheesey Baked Egg in these. I guarantee — You will see these again in a later post!!
Jim Lorio – Small Tumbler
Jim was a wonderful addition to the Tour; from Boulder, Colorado! He had a range of work — From rustic wood fired pieces, to quiet, silky porcelain plates and bowls. I’m sharing a small Tumbler with a delightful ash-glaze application. Perfect for wine and cheese (and berries)!
Recovering and celebrating!! The Tours are over — But I will certainly be posting about MORE New Pots in the near future!!
Those are some gorgeous pieces from the talented artists on Potters Tour. It was good to see you this past weekend and visit a bit. Thanks for sharing – have a nice recovery day.
